Jones, Wolf & Kapasi, LLC ("JWK") argued and obtained from the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey an Order granting final approval of a class action settlement in a 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) case against a New Jersey debt collection law firm, Griffin Alexander, P.C. (“Griffin Alexander”).
Plaintiffs' claims were premised on Griffin Alexander sending consumers a misleading and deceptive debt collection letter attempting to collect a debt related to their apartment residence without effectively providing the statutory required notices under the FDCPA.
The class action settlement includes monetary relief to the named Plaintiffs, the 62 New Jersey class members, as well as attorney fees and costs. JWK attorneys Joseph K. Jones and Benjamin J. Wolf were certified as Class Counsel.
