Jones, Wolf & Kapasi, LLC Settles FDCPA Class Action For Over 600 Consumers Related To Debt Collectors’ Attempt To Collect A Debt Without Holding The Required License Under New Jersey State Law

Jones, Wolf & Kapasi, LLC ("JWK") argued and obtained from the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey an Order granting final approval of a class action settlement in a 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) case against  two New Jersey debt collectors.

The class action settlement includes monetary relief to the named Plaintiff, the 635 New Jersey class members, as well as attorney fees and costs. JWK attorneys Joseph K. Jones and Benjamin J. Wolf were certified as Class Counsel.

The case is Roberto Ortiz et al. v Barry I. Siegel A/K/A Barry I. Siegel Attorney At Law; Retail Recovery Service of NJ, Inc. et al., 2:18-cv-14959 (MF),  and the Final Approval Order can be read here.
