Jones, Wolf & Kapasi, LLC (“JWK”) argued and obtained from the United States District Court For the District of New Jersey an Order granting final approval of a class action settlement in a 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) case against Forster & Garbus, LLP (“F&G”), a debt collection law firm.
The FDCPA case involved F&G sending New Jersey consumers letters or notices in an attempt to collect post judgment interest.
The class action settlement includes monetary relief to the named Plaintiff, the 85 New Jersey class members, as well as attorney fees and costs. JWK attorneys Joseph K. Jones and Benjamin J. Wolf were certified as Class Counsel. In addition, the National Consumer Law Center (“NCLC”) was approved as the cy pres recipient.
